Welcome to the best beaches of the world

Skiathos is one of the four inhabited islands of the Thessalian Sporades, a cluster of 10 islands off the Northeastern Coast of Greece. Sporades means ‘scattered’, while the name Skiathos derives from ‘skia’ (shadow) and ‘Athos’ due to the island’s proximity to the holy Mount Athos. According to myth, the primary source of Ancient Greek history, the Sporades islands were created by the fierce Titans throwing massive rocks into the sea while at war.

Skiathos was awarded by Condé Nast Traveler (the Reader’s Choice Awards 2019), winning 1st place for the best beaches in the world.
